FiveM: "Connection rejected by server" (allowlist, Discord, or ban)
Server-side — not your PCConnection rejected by server
The server refused to let you in on purpose. The text after 'Connection rejected by server' tells you why: you're not on the allowlist, Discord couldn't be detected, or you're banned. Your PC isn't broken.
Why it happens
Many roleplay servers only let in approved players. They check your Discord account, your FiveM account, or an application. If the server can't see your Discord, you haven't been approved yet, or you've been banned, it rejects the connection and shows its own message.
How to fix it
- Read the full message after 'Connection rejected by server'. Servers write their own reason here, often with a Discord link.
- Allowlist or application required: join the server's Discord and follow its application or verification steps. Approval can take time.
- Discord not detected: open the Discord desktop app (not the browser version) and sign in to the same account you used in the server's Discord. Then fully close FiveM and reopen it, so it can see Discord.
- If Discord is open but still not detected, make sure FiveM and Discord are both running as a normal user (not 'Run as administrator'), then restart both.
- Make sure you've linked your FiveM (Cfx.re) account if the server asks for it, and that you're signed in to it in FiveM.
- Banned: contact the server's staff through their Discord and follow their appeal process. Don't try to get around a ban; servers can ban your hardware or accounts permanently.
Still broken?
If you're approved and Discord is detected but you're still rejected, send a screenshot of the full message to the server's staff. Only they can see why their system is turning you away.

FiveM: "Failed to connect to server after 3 attempts"
FiveM tried to reach the server three times and got no answer. Either the server is down or blocking you, or something on your PC or network is stopping the connection. Trying a second server tells you which.
Fixable on your PC FiveMFiveM: "Server requires a newer game version" / game build mismatch
Your copy of GTA V (or FiveM itself) doesn't match the game version the server is set to. Usually fixed by letting FiveM and GTA V update. If the server is the one that's behind, only its owners can fix it.
